About me
Well hello, ciao, servus, privyet and welcome.
If you don’t know me already, I’m a BIG enthusiast of languages and the industry that has been my home for thirty years now. Why? Well, when I was one, my parents headed for Turkey in a Herbie on a new adventure that would shape my future too! My first word, ‘simit’ (look it up) not only enabled me to eat, but fuelled a new passion for languages (and food)!
After completing a BA in Russian & German at University of Bath I qualified as a language trainer and translator through the Institute of Translation & Interpreting. Since then, I’ve built, acquired and sold international language service companies. I’ve enabled business professionals to speak new languages, connect better with clients through cultural intelligence training and build multilingual marketing campaigns.
When working as a DBT Export Champion I’ve guided UK-based entrepreneurs in navigating new markets. As a Council Member of the ATC I’ve contributed to the great work they do in supporting language companies, and maintaining standards in the language industry.
At this stage in my career now I’d like my experience to benefit and help others get to where they need to be – whether it’s language learning, building cultural intelligence or growing or selling a language business.
